The European project ZEOCAT-3D reaches its 36th month, holding its second Review Meeting on April 28. In a pleasant online meeting, in which all the members and participants of the project were present, the progress made up to date was presented, as well as the activities planned for the coming months.
The purpose of the project is the development of a bifunctional zeolite based on a nano-catalyst for the conversion of methane into hydrocarbons, including the design and installation of the general system where the chemical reaction will take place. In this phase of the project, the system is located at the facilities of the University of Poitiers (CNRS-Poitiers), where the catalytic properties of the monoliths developed by the different partners are analyzed, selecting the most promising compositions.
More than a half-project has passed and Tecnan has completed its main activities for previously defined complex nano-oxides production using the FSP technique. Nevertheless, it continues to work closely with the Lurederra Technology Center on all the activities related with these nanomaterials and their use, as in the zeolitic impregnation tasks. On the other hand, it also collaborates with the environmental study (Life Cycle Analysis) of the nanoparticle’s production processes, providing the required information.
