On January 13th and 14th, the kick-off meeting of the MAREWIND project was held. This ambitious project funded by the H2020 program of the European Union addresses the main aspects related to the durability and maintenance of offshore structures. Combining different key players in the current wind energy value chain, MAREWIND covers a set of ambitious goals focused on improving corrosion protection systems and durability, effective and long-lasting anti-foiling solutions (without the use of biocidal agents), protection against erosion and mechanical reinforcement in blades, modelling and predictive monitoring and increased recyclabilit.
The project consortium consists of 16 partners from seven different EU countries, including technology partners, manufacturing companies, including TECNAN to work on anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coatings, and maintenance companies, as well as energy operators on offshore technologies.
