Last November, the final meeting of the European SUPER-PV project was held in Ouarzazate (Morocco) at the MASEN facilities. In the mentioned project, TECNAN and LUREDERRA have worked on proposing and developing nanotechnological-based solutions to improve performance of solar panels and reduce O&M costs through the use of coatings with antireflective and antisoiling properties. More concretely, in the final meeting TECNAN and LUREDERRA as well as the rest of the partners belonging to the consortium showed the results that had been achieved with the development of the various activities aimed at improving the efficiency of solar panels.
Thus, up to a 5% improvement in the efficiency of solar modules has been observed thanks to the inclusion of nanotechnological coatings on the glass of solar panels. In addition, this positive effect has been achieved in all tested climates (hot and cold, humid and dry), which reinforces the good work carried out in the SUPER-PV project.
