After the first year of the European project MAREWIND, the consortium celebrated a meeting via teleconference the days 23 and 24 of November 2021, with the objective that each partner shared their results and show the progress in their work packages. The progress was updated with respect to the previous consortium general meeting celebrated in summer of the same year.
Currently, the project is at the point where the focus is on the lab scale advancement in which it includes different tests with samples of the different parts that the offshore structures. The purpose is to choose the most promising alternatives in order to continue with the next stages of the project.
Tecnan, shared its results related to the formulation optimization of the anticorrosion and antifouling coatings. Besides, specific protocols for applying the layers by the spray technique were defined. This method, has turn out to be the most suitable one, because it gives an optimum coverage for the different morphologies that can present the diverse substrates. The advancement and progress can be said to have been very fruitful and with good hopes placed on the next steps to be taken.
The next general MAREWIND meeting has been set in May 2022, corresponding to the month 18 of the project course.
